I am so thrilled to be a part of the cover reveal for My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris! What do you all think of the cover? Don’t forget to check out the excerpt below!

Alessandra jerks back like I just suggested she prance around the square naked or something. “No! I believe I understand your meaning, and Lorenzo is certainly not my suitor. He is like a brother to me—the three of us grew up together.”

She resumes walking and I fall in step beside her, understanding there has to be more to the story. And as we near the end of the row, I finally ask, “If you’re not into the guy, then what’s the problem?”

At that same moment, a rich, deep chuckle hits my ears. My stomach involuntarily clenches and my gaze sharpens on the back of this mysterious Lorenzo.

Alessandra sighs. “That is the problem.” She places her hand on my arm and solemnly looks me in the eyes. “You must be careful. Lorenzo is beautiful, and it is not uncommon for a girl to walk away from meeting him with a piece of her heart left behind. But he is just eighteen, and not yet ready for marriage.”

I roll my eyes and laugh, then realize she’s serious. “Yeah, I assure you, there’s no danger on my end. I’m not exactly looking for marriage myself.” Because that would be crazy-town.

Alessandra wrinkles her nose as if she doesn’t believe me, but she removes her hand. We close the distance and Cipriano flashes me an open, honest to goodness, lighthearted smile.

“Lorenzo, this is the cousin I was telling you about.”

Slowly the guy turns and I fall head first into the richest chocolate-brown eyes I’ve ever seen. He blinks and long, luscious lashes feather across his bronzed cheeks. I can feel myself gawking, but I physically can’t drag my eyes away. Lorenzo doesn’t smirk or act all conceited, either. He simply stares back, his eyes casually skimming over me, causing my skin to warm and break out in a whole body tingle.

Time seems to stop, and the sounds of the market mute. Alessandra was right. This boy is beautiful.

And he’s looking at me.

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century releases September 11, 2012, be sure to pre-order yourself a copy!

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had great holidays with your family and friends. Now that it’s 2012, I wanted to let you guys know what challenges I’m going to be participating in as well as some new year’s resolutions I have. :)

2012 Reading Challenge
Goal: 100 books

Last year I started out with 75 books but eventually lowered to 40 because realized I didn’t have enough time to be able to accomplish that amount. But this year, I feel that I am up to an even bigger challenge!

2012 Debut Author Challenge
Goal: 30 debuts

It’s my first time participating in the Debut Author Challenge so I’m very excited. Plus, the debuts this year? All sound freaking amazing! You can check out my tentative list of the debuts I’d like to read here.

Resolutions:

  • Write reviews RIGHT AFTER reading a book instead of moving onto reading another one. I got too ahead of myself last year and because of it I am behind on reviews. I plan to catch up soon and once I do, never again will I let this happen.
  • Comment more! This year was insanely busy and stressful for me so I’m pretty sure I failed in this department. I’d very much like to improve on this.
  • Get to know more bloggers! I have met a few great people since starting the blog but I feel I could have got to know more of you a lot better. I think this goes hand in hand with the commenting more thing. ;)

Oh. My. Gosh. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. I really didn’t think it could be as pretty as the Australian cover but I think I like it even more! I adore the smokey effects they’ve used and I’m also so glad that they stuck with the purple theme of the AUS cover. Can’t wait to have a copy of this beautiful book displayed on my shelves!

What are your thoughts on it? Did it live up to your expectations or do you still like the AUS cover better?

You will kill. The only question is when.

In the dark days since the insidious Red Lung virus decimated the human population, vampires have risen to rule the crumbling cities and suburbs. Uncontested Princes hold sway over diminished ranks of humans: their “pets.” In exchange for their labor, loyalty and of course, their blood, these pets are registered, given food and shelter, permitted to survive.

Unregistered humans cling to fringes, scavenging for survival. Allison Sekemoto and her fellow Unregistereds are hunted, not only by vampires, but by rabids, the unholy result of Red Lung-infected vampires feeding on unwary humans. One night, Allie is attacked by a pack of rabids, saved by an unlikely hero…and turned vampire.

Uncomfortable in her undead skin, Allie falls in with a ragtag crew of humans seeking a cure, or cures: for Rabidism and for Vampirism. She’s passing for human…for now. But the hunger is growing and will not be denied. Not for friendship—not even for love.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, IT’S FINALLY REVEALED AND IT’S SO PRETTY! Julie Kagawa’s books are some of my all time favorites so when I found out she was writing another series you can imagine my excitement. This cover is very different from the Iron Fey ones, which is to be expected since The Immortal Rules has a completely different theme, but I love it all the same. Pretty cover aside, it sounds amazing too! April needs to get here, like now!

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
Release Date: February 14, 2012 by Tor Teen

New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., have been abandoned.

The Bill of Rights has been revoked, and replaced with the Moral Statutes.

There are no more police—instead, there are soldiers. There are no more fines for bad behavior—instead, there are arrests, trials, and maybe worse. People who get arrested usually don’t come back.

Seventeen-year-old Ember Miller is old enough to remember that things weren’t always this way. Living with her rebellious single mother, it’s hard for her to forget that people weren’t always arrested for reading the wrong books or staying out after dark. It’s hard to forget that life in the United States used to be different.

Ember has perfected the art of keeping a low profile. She knows how to get the things she needs, like food stamps and hand-me-down clothes, and how to pass the random home inspections by the military. Her life is as close to peaceful as circumstances allow.

That is, until her mother is arrested for noncompliance with Article 5 of the Moral Statutes. And one of the arresting officers is none other than Chase Jennings…the only boy Ember has ever loved.

When I first stumbled upon Article 5, I misjudged it by the cover – which I wasn’t crazy about – and therefore did not even bother to read the synopsis (horrible, I know). But when going over a list of all the 2012 debuts so I could compile a list of my own with the ones I’d like to read, I started reading each and every synopsis. Now that I’ve actually read about Article 5 it is one of the novels I am most looking forward to in 2012! I think it sounds like an amazing read and I’m seriously, seriously berating myself for passing over it so quickly before!

What are you waiting on? Leave your link in the comments and I’ll be sure to check it out!
